If a minor drinks alcohol, the adult who sold the drink can be punished
If a minor smokes, the adult who sold//give it can be punished
If a minor has sex with an adult.... we all know what happens
Kids nowadays aren't different than before. I started to smoke when i was 12, i started to drink when i was 13.... but i knew it was wrong. And if i was catch doing it, i was punished.
The point is kids are gonna do it or try to do it anyways... all of us did it before, but that doesn't mean ADULTS have to participate/ignore it just cause kids are gonna do it anyways

In South Korea a minor can buy alcohol. The kid just needs to lie if asked who it is for. I assume it's the same with tobacco. Funny how when it's forbidden children and adults want to do it anyways. I drank alcohol at the age of 14 but at the age around 15 or 16 I didn't want to drink alcohol in South Korea because it is easy to get. Btw my step uncle poured me a shot of Soju being a minor.
Sex with a minor is a different ball game, it can mess up a child when having sex with an adult. That isn't true with alcohol and tabbaco.

That doesn't surprise me in the least that people who have experience trauma can have more likelihood of taking up habits like smoking or drinking (or other ways of coping with it).

Not sure why you mentioned that though. My message I posted before was just to state the fact that nicotine usage in adolescents can in fact be detrimental and is not something that should be dismissed as no issue when it can have very real health issues.
